THE PROJECT
AURELIA was developed as a contemporary fine jewellery concept focused on refined forms, considered proportions and precise material execution
The collection explores sculptural jewellery designed to sit naturally on the body, combining clean silhouettes with distinctive detailing and a refined contemporary aesthetic
The development focused on translating each jewellery concept into technically viable pieces, considering dimensions, metal construction, stone setting, component weight, wearability, finishing and production requirements
The collection was developed through a complete process of product development, design development, material sourcing, sampling and prototyping, technical development and manufacturing, taking each piece from initial concept through to a production-ready jewellery design

THE BRIEF
The objective was to create a contemporary fine jewellery collection that felt:
Sculptural but wearable | Refined but distinctive | Contemporary without becoming trend-driven
Premium in gold & platinum | Cohesive across different material expressions
Each piece was developed with consideration for metal behaviour, proportions, weight, construction, finishing, wearability and production feasibility, allowing the same design language to translate across different material categories without losing its identity.
OUR APPROACH
-
Each AURELIA piece was developed as a fine jewellery product, with the design language translated into technically viable forms for precious-metal production.
+ Form & Proportion: Overall dimensions, profile, thickness, curvature and scale developed according to how each piece sits and moves on the body.
+ Precious Metal Development: Designs engineered for yellow, white and rose gold variants, alongside platinum, with consideration for the different properties, weight and finishing characteristics of each metal.
+ Construction: Individual components, connections, joints, settings, clasps and structural elements developed according to the requirements of each design.
+ Wearability: Weight distribution, edge profiles, contact points, articulation and balance considered for comfort and long-term wear.
+ Stone Integration: Where applicable, stone dimensions, setting depth, seat construction and surrounding metal proportions incorporated into the design development.
+ Surface Finish: High polish, satin, brushed and contrasting finishes considered as part of the final jewellery architecture.
+ Manufacturing Feasibility: Casting, fabrication, soldering, stone setting, filing, polishing and finishing requirements assessed before prototyping.
+ Metal Adaptation: Each design reviewed across the selected gold variants and platinum to ensure the proportions, detailing and construction remain consistent with the intended AURELIA identity.
The result was a precious-metal jewellery collection developed specifically for fine jewellery production, rather than a design simply reproduced across different materials.
-
Material development focused on precious-metal performance, weight, durability and finishing across the AURELIA collection.
+ Gold: Yellow, white and rose gold variants assessed for alloy composition, hardness, colour and finish.
+ Platinum: Developed for its density, strength, purity and distinctive finishing characteristics.
+ Metal Thickness: Wall, band and component thickness established for structural integrity and controlled weight.
+ Stone Integration: Stone dimensions, setting depth, tolerances and surrounding metal proportions defined where applicable.
+ Surface Finish: High polish, satin, brushed and mixed finishes developed according to each design.
+ Components: Clasps, posts, hinges, jump rings and connecting elements specified for repeated wear.
+ Production: Casting, joining, soldering, setting, polishing and finishing requirements considered before prototyping.
The result was a controlled material specification for each piece, ready for technical development and prototyping.
-
Each piece was developed through precise jewellery design development, refining the visual language while resolving the details required for eventual production.
+ Geometry: Silhouette, curvature, profile, diameter, width and thickness refined for each piece.
+ Proportion: Relationship between the jewellery and the body considered to establish appropriate scale and visual balance.
+ Detailing: Edges, negative space, surface transitions, sculptural elements and signature details developed within each design.
+ Wearability: Contact points, movement, weight distribution and comfort incorporated into the design decisions.
+ Gold Variants: Designs refined to maintain consistency across yellow, white and rose gold.
+ Platinum: Proportions and detailing reviewed for platinum without altering the intended design language.
+ Stone Integration: Where applicable, stone placement and setting requirements incorporated directly into the design.
+ Collection Cohesion: Each piece developed with an individual identity while remaining recognisably AURELIA.
-
Each piece was prototyped to validate scale, proportion, wearability, construction and material behaviour before final technical approval.
+ Prototype Development: Initial forms produced to assess the physical interpretation of the design.
+ Scale & Proportion: Dimensions, thickness, curvature and relationship to the body reviewed on the actual piece.
+ Wear Testing: Weight, balance, contact points, movement and comfort assessed during use.
+ Function: Closures, hinges, posts, clasps and connecting components tested for practical operation.
+ Stone Setting: Where applicable, setting position, security, alignment and visual relationship to the metal assessed.
+ Finish: Surface quality, edge definition, polish and transitions reviewed after finishing.
+ Corrections: Design and dimensional adjustments transferred into the final technical model before production approval.
-
The approved jewellery designs were translated into precise technical specifications and production-ready digital models.
+ 3D/CAD Development: Final geometry developed with controlled dimensions, profiles and tolerances.
+ Technical Dimensions: Internal diameter, thickness, width, height, stone seats and component measurements defined where applicable.
+ Construction: Connections, joints, settings, clasps, hinges and structural components technically resolved.
+ Stone Specifications: Stone dimensions, setting type, placement and tolerances documented where required.
+ Manufacturing Allowances: Casting, polishing, finishing and material allowances incorporated into the technical development.
+ Surface Specifications: Polish, satin, brushed and contrasting finishes clearly defined.
+ Production Files: Final digital files and technical references prepared for prototyping and manufacturing.
-
Sourcing focused on securing precious metals, stones and specialist components that met the technical and aesthetic requirements of the collection.
+ Precious Metals: Gold variants and platinum sourced according to required alloy, purity and production specification.
+ Stones: Where applicable, stones assessed for size, cut, colour, clarity and setting compatibility.
+ Components: Chains, clasps, findings, posts and specialist jewellery components selected according to specification.
+ Supplier Evaluation: Quality, consistency, availability, MOQ and production capability reviewed.
+ Material Certification: Precious-metal and stone documentation considered where required.
+ Costing: Metal weight, stone requirements, components, production allowances and finishing incorporated into product costing.
-
Manufacturing followed the approved designs, technical specifications and validated prototypes, with each piece produced according to its specific precious-metal construction.
+ Model Preparation: Approved CAD models prepared for casting or direct manufacturing.
+ Casting & Fabrication: Components produced in the specified gold variant or platinum with controlled dimensional accuracy.
+ Assembly: Components, joints, settings, clasps and connecting elements assembled according to the approved construction.
+ Stone Setting: Stones securely set and aligned according to the approved setting design where applicable.
+ Finishing: Filing, surface preparation, polishing, satin/brushed finishing and edge refinement completed to specification.
+ Quality Control: Dimensions, weight, symmetry, setting security, surface quality, closures and overall finish inspected.
+ Final Approval: Each completed piece checked against the approved prototype and technical requirements before final presentation and delivery.
